  • Development Background

The urban rail transit features great traffic volume, high speed, safety, punctuality, environmental protection as well as energy and land saving, covering subway, light rail, rapid rail, tramcar, etc. It is generally known that the preferential development of urban public transport system that takes rail transit as backbone is the essential solution for urban traffic problems.

Prospects of China urban rail transit industry market and investment strategy planning and analysis report shows that the market scale of China urban rail transit informatization system was only RMB 3,100,000,000 and the growth rate was 12.73% in 2008; it reached RMB 4,500,000,000 in 2010; it was up to RMB 6,500,000,000 in 2012 and the growth rate was 23.19%; it was 8,100,000,000 in 2013; it is expected to reach 10,000,000,000 by 2014.
China has a rapid urbanization process. The national urbanization rates respectively are 51.27% in 2011, 52.57% in 2012 and 53.73% in 2013. The national urbanization rate is expected to reach 60% by 2020. The large population rushing into city means that the public traffic will assume greater volume. With the gradual transfer from construction to operation, the urban rail transit will still be in the state of supply behind demand in future years. The national urban rail transit is expected to have the passenger capacity over 20,000,000,000 person-time by 2020.
